SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Pamela Lloyd-Ogoke was born and raised in New York City and became Deaf at the age of 17. She obtained her B.A. degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Social Work and her M.A. degree in Deafness Rehabilitation from New York University. She also completed the Deafness Rehabilitation Administrative post M.A. program from San Diego State University.

Pam's career in human service has been extensive. She has held a variety of highly visible leadership positions such as Executive Director of a Disability Rights Center, University ADA Compliance Officer, and Program Administrator of a statewide Telecommunications Access Program.

Pam has been a leader within the Deaf community for over twenty-five years. She served as President of National Black Deaf Advocates (NBDA) during 1993 - 1997. She is currently a NBDA Board Member and the National Regional System Advisor. She is also on the External Advisory Committee for the National Center for Deaf Health Research (NCDHR). Previously, she has served the National Association of the Deaf as a member of the Fulton III steering committee and co-chair of the NAD-RID Task Force on Interpreter Issues.

Pam is married to Aristotle U. Ogoke, GU '80 and they are the proud parents of Brianna Chinyere Ogoke. In her rare spare time, she enjoys reading, swimming and traveling.
